It has come to our attention that certain breeders seem to think that you can only order rings from the IOA via our web site.
This is not the case and the committee of the IOA would be very grateful if you could inform any breeders who are not in possession of a computer that it is possible to order rings from the IOA. Please pass on all details of our ring secretary wherever possible.

The IOA have some exciting news for all their members regarding their plans for 2015/16. The committee have after giving their plans a lot of thought decided to sponsor two shows. The main show which the IOA will be involved with is the BRITISH NATIVE MULE &HYBRID CLUB held at Nantwich Civic Hall in January 2016. As well as giving the committee a cash donation they will also give out the
IOA’s bespoke rosette’s and also each judge will be given an IOA mug. Everyone who enters for this show will also be given an IOA bespoke ring holder. As this show has now been going for a number of years the IOA committee felt the time was right to give something back to its members who nearly all show at this wonderful show, all do what the IOA was formed for and all use CLOSE RINGS. We hope this is the start of making this show even better than it already is and hope to be its sponsor’s for years to come.
The Bird Show of the Year held in Oct at Stafford Show ground the IOA will also be one of the sponsors for this show and will after speaking to Les Rance from the Parrot Society the CANARY SECTION will be given IOA bespoke rosette’s to cover all classes.
The IOA’s affiliated society’s do not miss out on sponsor ship and this year they have awarded a cash donation of £100-oo to the International Gloster Breeders Association to help with the cost of running its show. Two society’s The CCBA Scottish Zone and the Frill Canary Club will each receive £25-00 to help them and all other societies will receive three bespoke rosette’s.
For the Yorkshire British Bird & Hybrid Club who hold their show in November the IOA have decided to sponsor one class,the honour for this years show will be the Crossbill section,they have awarded three rosette’s and the IOA President has donated a cash prize of £25-00 for best Crossbill in show.They hope this will be a great help to encourage more breeders of this wonderful bird to show them.
This proves the only organisation who looks after its members and gives some thing back to the hobby is the IOA.
The October 2015 issue of the Ornithology UK magazine has been sent out to all fully paid up members and affiliated societies.

The executive committee of the IOA would like to offer their congratulations to member Graham Lee for passing his COM/OMJ judging test for the section “F” at the World Show in Rosleman, Holland. Graham now brings the total of OMJ judges in the UK to ten. A feather in the cap of the IOA is the fact that all 10 passed while being IOA members and at this moment 9 are fully paid up IOA members. One had to resign from the IOA due to a breach of IOA discipline rules, so this proves that the IOA are with out doubt one of the best organisations to be involved with.

For 2014 the committee are pleased to be able to offer to members this brand new pin badge for a cost of £4 per badge. Also for all fully paid up IOA members who exhibit their birds at the World Show through the IOA they will be given a one off badge which has gold round the badge circle, because of the cost you will only be allowed one gold badge and you must use IOA rings on the birds you exhibit at the world show.
